(har chamkand~ar^a shai sonu kaana hond~ee aahe)

All that glitters is not Gold

ہر چمکتی چیز سونا نہیں ہوتی

(jahir^o raja tahr^ee parjaa)

As the king, so the subjects

جیسا راجا، ویسی پرجا

(jekee gaja`ndaa se kahr^o vasa`ndaa)

Thundering clouds seldom rain

جو گرجتے ہیں، وہ برستے نہیں

(jahr^ee karn~ee tahr^ee bharn~ee)

Tit for tat

جیسی کرنی ویسی بھرنی

(t~aar^ee hika hath~a saa`n na vaj^a`nd~ee aahe)

It takes two to make a quarrel

تالی ایک ہاتھہ سے نہیں بجتی

(jahr^aa kaa`nga tahir^aa b^achaa)

Like father like sun

جیسے کوے ویسے بچے

(ag^yaar^ee una jee surahee jahi`n jee pachhaar^ee surahee)

All is well, that ends well

انت بھلا سو بھلا

(insaan khhat~aa jo gharu aahe)

To err is Human

انسان خطا کا پتلہ ہے

(t~a`ndurust~ee hazaar naimat~a aahe)

Health is wealth

تندرستی ہزار نعمت ہے

(ba`nd~e je mana me hikr^ee, khhud~aa je mana me b^ee)

Man proposes, God disposes

بندے کے من میں ایک، خدا کے من میں دوسری

(kalamu talvaara khaa`n tezu aahe)

Pen is mightier then sword

قلم تلوار سے تیز ہے

(jahir^o pokhee`nd~e`n, t~ahir^o lun~a`nd~e`n)

As you Sow, so shall you reap

جو بوئو گے وہ کاٹو گے

(ghan~e zaale`n gharu na hale ghan~e mur^use`n haru na hale)

Too many cooks spoil the broth

زیادہ بیویوں سے گھر نہیں چلتا زیادہ مردوں سے ہل نہیں چلتا

(jeki chuluhu te so d~ili t~e)

Out of sight out of mind

جو باہر وہ اندر

(sakhin~ee kunee ghan~o ubhaame)

Empty Vessel thunders much

خالی برتن زیادہ جلے

(zaroorat~a eejadi jee maau aahe)

Necessity is mother of invention

ضرورت ایجاد کی ماں ہے

(dostu uho jo okheea vela kam ache)

A friend in need is a friend indeed

دوست وہ جو مشکل میں کام آئے

(gidar^u daakha na bhuj^e, aakhe thoo khataa)

Grapes are sour

انگور کہٹے ہوتے ہیں

(jahir^o desu t~ahr^o vesu)

While in Rome, do as Romans do

جیسا دیس ویسا بھیس

(himath mard~aan mad~ad~e khud~aa)

God helps those, who help themselves

ہمت مرداں، مدد خدا
